Internet connection issues

    I have been trying to connect my Windows Xp desktop to the Internet over wireless for some time now and it keeps giving the following error code every time I try and run the connection
    "Connecting through WAN Minipon PPPOE. Error 678 The remote computer did not respond". Anyone got any tips on how I can solve this?

    what is the make, model and model number of your desktop?
    home, media center or pro xp?

    My dell dimension 3000 will not work wirelessly unless I buy a wireless card, does your desktop have native wireless capability?

    The desktop is a dell dimension 2400 running Windows Xp home 32 bit. I am unsure if it has a wireless card inside is there any way to check without opening it up?
