    close everything open

open a folder (for example c: programs, or anything)

click the view tab and then click thumbnails, do not close window

open Folder Options, choose View tab, in top box, choose apply to all folders, then close out of everything and your folders will open in that view.

Jim, I am not a moderator, can't move anything, :)

sometimes a cleaner program will reset folder options to default settings.
