How to downgrade from wmp11 to wmp9?on xp

    I dont like windows media player11 so how can i downgrade to wmp9?

    yes you can do that but there are registry entries also. and you have to remove the runtime also.

    you can do a search of your pc for wmp11 and to be safe , move any file you wish to delete to a flash drive, you will have to go to folder options and have all files unhidden.
    This will let you see dll cache within system 32 so you can remove files from dll cache first and then system32, you will get a lot of WFP errors, it will tell you that a file is being replaced and you will say to cancel and it will ask if you want the file, just say yes. Then you will have to go to the registry and do the same, (export any item to the same flash drive, before deleting the registry entry)

    MAKE SURE TO READ EACH AND EVERY FILE AND REGISTRY ENTRY TO ENSURE THAT IT IS WMP11

    this is why I have never added the xpsp4, as there are too many optional updates that get added. at least when I go to microsoft updates I can say I do not want that particular update, :)
