I have a Dell Inspiron 600M running Windows XP (obviously) and my HDD always had about 50% or so free space. A couple of weeks ago I couldn't do defrag b/c 'not enough free space.' Finally today I ran EZ Cleaner's 'space usage' function and I see that 33% of my drive is being used up by: /byzaqxkqif. I have googled this file but come up with zero search results. FYI: the space usage pie also shows: Common Files: 11%, Microsoft Office: 8%, Avast Software: 9%.

Any help identifying this huge space-eater--and how to deal with it--greatly appreciated.

you seem to be infected with malware, please do the following:

and insure to run until scans come clean:

Download, install, update and do full scan with these free malware detection programs:

    Malwarebytes Free (MBAM): http://www.malwarebytes.org/products/

    SUPERAntiSpyware: (SAS): http://www.superantispyware.com/

Remove all found, reboot, and run again until scans run clean, these can be removed afterwards if you so choose. Run scans one at a time, please.

I would also change all your passwords and notify your bank, post the malwarebytes report in your next reply
