found new hardware

    I keep getting the msg "Found New Hardware" or "found printer"
    does anyone know how to stop this from happening pls.
    Running XP sp3

    go to device manager by right clicking on My computer, choose manage, choose device manager, when the box is open choose view, and choose show hidded devices,

    look for any yellow warnings, if the device properties it says unknown, either disable it or uninstall.

    I had this pop up after uninstalling a program that left a hidden driver behind after uninstallation.
