not sure, I have tried all their fixes, but it seems to happen so intermittently that I cannot pin it down, so I just live with it. :)

I have been doing different things to see if I can get the non responding to quit.

I had firefox's checkbox in my firewall unchecked so that was not an exception. I went back and rechecked the box and so far (one hour) it has not hung up so I will see if this continues. I had originally thought that to have firefox as an exception on my firewall was an insecure process, but will see. :)

I started ff 52.8 first this morning. Was either extremely sluggish or non-responsive (got the 'hourglass')
Also, I got a lot of advertising I dont usually get with 29x. -> This is what upgrades are all about!!
    Right now: FF29, again, , , ,

@cornemuse, I have never used a portable browser, what is the difference besides no registry writing? do not some websites say that the browser is out of date?

Other than being completely in its own installed filder, I cant find any differences in speed etc.
Yes, sites tell me its out of date, even the last version that works with XP.
The thing is, copying the FF folder & pasting it elsewhere, I just made a 100% backup of FF. I have 3 versions I can access, some sites do not work with v 29x, which I prefer, still!

    dropdown.png

    FF29 near top (with its own shortcut) & 2 other versions 52 & 42.

    3-FF's.png

The three versions stored in C:\ = 29-42-52 (above)

I copied the 'data' folder from (FF29) & pasted it into 42 & 52, all settings p/w's addons etc work with the three versions.

One site I 'use' goes online for data & half the time "it" upgrades to FF-43 (dont know why allus v 43) on its own, there, I replace complete 100% BU with the one 'backup' I saved & all is well, again.

    -c-

    (hope this makes sense, , , ,)

the only reason I would try a portable is to see if the pages load faster than the installed FF. It is only several seconds, but still they used to load faster on earlier versions. :)

firefox better:agree chrome ugly:i dont agree
from years the old theme doesnt change, But in Windows Vista, 7(8), 8.1 and 10 Looks Amazing Bsc they have visual themes that combine with chrome. But firefox only used visual themes on the new update, so you kids will love the firefox theme.

Also i said Opera, Safari so well these two are better
Edit: Safari the new internet explorer 2
