So I'm getting this error with Internet Download Manager when trying to download from some https sites - "An Error occurred while creating a security connection to scribd.com".

This error is encountered only on certain https sites like scribd, wetransfer etc most other sites are ok.

I've had the updates recommended by IDM installed on my system for the past 2/3 years and didn't face any problem with https sites up till now.

Is it becuase some sites are moving on to even newer encryption protocols ?

have you tried to download without the use of IDM? I have never used this program and have not ever come across that error.

I can download without IDM using Firefox but the transfer speed is too low.

I've already installed the KB3055973-v3 & KB3081320 updates recommended by
    IDM.

Are there any more updates for Windows XP POSReady 2009 which provide support for latest encryption protocols ?
