I am running win xp sp3 home. This is an old Dell Dimension 5150 desktop which I am attempting to refurbish. Some have claimed my efforts are a waste of time.

When trying to open a zip file, I get the "error 2815" message. This is a drivers file.
Can anyone tell me what this is and how to correct it?

Some websites have stated this is a registry problem.
I am reluctant to screw with the registry due to info I have encountered on the Internet, ie "don't touch the registry unless absolutely necessary".

Any input would be appreciated. Was unable to locate any posts regarding 2815 on this website.
    Grats. :)
