Download problem

I'm using winXPSP2 and i have installed firefox, opera and even IE too. when i download a file, the file gets downloaded and it stops at the end. Some few mins later it indicates as failed. its a serious problem and i'm unable to download the files. i dont know what the problem is....

What sort of firewall and anti-malware do you have installed?

is your system 64bit?? if it is 32bit, then you should be at sp3 and not sp2.

if avast is installed and you are downloading from firefox, there is a problem there that avast is trying to fix.
