    Hi,

Thanks for this. After restarting the system, it works fine now. Disk check was skipped.

    Regards

okay, but if checkdisk needs to be run, you should run it with the /r parameter.

    Hi,

I meant when i resumed after the power shutdown, i skipped the disk check, hence the error.
Now when i restarted the system, it works fine. I didn't have to run check dsk explicity.

    So all working well..

    Thanks
    Sony

when an ungraceful shutdown has occurred, for example a power outage, it is always a good thing to run checkdisk to ensure that system files have not become corrupted due to improper shutdown.

you can query the hard disk to see if it is dirty and the only way to clear the dirty bit is to run checkdisk, to query, go to start, run, type in cmd, and in the command prompt box type the bold text below:

    Examples

To query the dirty bit on drive C, type:

    fsutil dirty query C:

    Sample output:

    Volume C: is dirty

    or

    Volume C: is not dirty

    Hi Elizabeth,

Thanks a lot for that information.

I ran that command for drive C and it is "Not Dirty" at all.

    Cheers
