I run Windows XP, Internet Explorer 8, Outlook Express 6.

Some time ago I enabled a "marvelous innovation": I put a check mark somewhere and upon pressing Ctrl on my keyboard momentary circles appear around the cursor. I may be useful when the cursor is off screen.

Last week circles started appear around the cursor on its own without pressing anything... It happens every 5 seconds! No matter how hard I try, I cannot find the box to be unchecked to turn the damn thing off. Can you help me?

    Thanks
    Paul

not sure if this is where you changed your pointer but it can be changed here:

go to start, control panel, mouse, pointer tab and you can choose how it looks.
