For some reason I decided to remove cookies on my XP last week and not really knowing what the effect would be. Mostly it was okay but anything with Google and a few other websites requires I have to type the user & password each time. I miss the old way where I never had to re-type certain websites over again.

So, are cookies ended on my XP or do they build again. What am I gaining or losing?

As long as you just deleted them and didn't disable the creation of new ones, they will re-build.
Maybe you have to ensure to check the checkbox "remember me" or "stay signed in" on the websites you log in.

IF you disabled them: how to change these settings depends on your browser.
