I print from google cloud print to a standard (non-cloud) printer which is connected to a pc running XP. The pc must be on and connected to wifi to print from the cloud. If I don't launch the internet browser am I still at risk for an XP security breach?

You can be at risk anytime, xp is just now prone more to breaches since there are no more security updates.

The cloud does not make it super secure.

And wifi is in itself not to secure but it is also dependent on your scanning methods and surfing methods,

as long as you have your antivirus running in real time and do scans frequently, you are as safe as any other time
