China worships Marvel superheroes in Churches!

I think that's the stark contrast between East and West. When the end credits roll on a Marvel superhero movie, it's really the end, that character is just a fictional character on the screen.

In Chinese movies characters are often more than their limited appearance on the silver screen. This character Nezha (from the recent Creation of the Gods movie trilogy) is actually a deity worshiped in Chinese churches (temples).

I'm reminded of the Chariot of Fire in Greek mythology:

In the Chinese version (Nezha), there is no chariot, just wheels of fire on the bottom of a young boy's soles:
