Changing The "OPEN" Box

On another computer, the "Open" box changed to:
(This box along side of in this case PaintDotNet)




Change back to this:
(This is the computer I am on-line with right now, same PDN, same "Open" window)
Notice no icons on the side of this box.



On the problem computer, the hdd/os started gettin' buggy. I re-installed XP-64 bit & transfered all files etc etc. But, I cannot remember how to change this setting for the life of me.
Those icons annoy me, thats the main reason for changing it!!

I believe in folder options you have the choice between "show common tasks" and "use classic folders" have you tried choosing classic folders?

the instructions above are for office but you can substitute the program paintdonnet to edit the registry to remove the icons
