    Hi Guys

I'm trying to get a Backup of my iTunes Library prior to a reinstallation of iTunes.
In order to perform this, I wanted to copy my iTunes Library onto my external Harddisk.
However, everytime I try this, there's an error message telling me that the file can not be copied. So far I have:

    - made an error search via C: drive -> properties -> error search
    - defragmented the computer

The iTunes file is currently write-protected. I tried to change that, but everytime I take a new look at the properties of the file it is back to write-protected.

Your help would be much appreciated!

Thanks for the suggestion, but I myself did a fair amount of research before posting my problem here and have seen that site before. As you may have read in my description the problem is different.

But it doesn't matter now, I solved it:

Turns out that the path name of the file was too long. It didn't say that in the error posting.
I fixed it by simply moving the file up in the hierarchy.

    Thanks everyone for your attention.
