Trying to reload Xp Pro on new drive using Driver and Operating System disks from Gateway. Everything goes well until I try to open a download. Then I geterror " The procedure entry point EncodePointer could not be located in dynamic link library KERNAL32.dll".

1. first to be completely sure, you state you did a clean install??
2. have you then been completely updated at microsoft updates??
3. are you on sp3 and ie8.
