Blue Screen of DEATH info ?

Guys and gals,
I got hit with a BSOD last night, as I was closing up the computer (it reset and then shut down normally), but this evening, my computer had a problem in booting up again (which I recounted in a thread, a few months back). I was just wondering if there is a way to find out what the info was on the BSOD ? It pops on so fast, there is no way to read what is written. Does this info get saved on some kind of file that can be read ?
Thanks !

can you get to the advanced boot menu? if so the disable automatic restart, this should leave your blue screen up so you can read the info.

above are two of the links for blue screen descriptions, from the below search page:

Thank you so much ! I just disabled my 'Automatic Restart' option, so if the BSOD happens again, at least now I will be able to see what it says. Much obliged !

Great post, Elizabeth!
As a matter of fact I'm getting way more BSODs on my Win7 (strictly intended for internet access) than on my good old WinXPs (3 working OSs that fail very seldom, if ever). But I shall try your line of search and maybe - just maybe - fix also Win7 to some extent. Wish me well...

I'm pleased to see that you too ditched nosy Google and switched to discreet DuckDuckGo :)

Chiron, the following link may help for win 7, I have no experience with win 7, but good luck, :)

I have never liked google, and every movie and book now has google it. google probably gets a lot of revenue this way :)

Thanks! I'll give it a go as soon as I'm finished with the current backup - tampering with Win XP is no problem but Win7 is still mostly uncharted territory to me, and I'd hate to have to reinstall it from scratch because of some stupid slip I might make :(
