I have Windows XP: Professional; SPA, with SATA driver.
I tried a few times on one computer to no avail, thinking that the motherboard was too new, now I'm installing on an older one.

I switched boot from UEFI to legacy, I think it what it's called
I tried putting AHCI to IDE.

    Specs:
    Motherboard: ASUS B85M-G R2.0
    Graphics: Integrated
    RAM: HyperX DDR3 1600
    Processor: Intel Core i3-4130
    Storage Drive: 32GB SSD/SATA

The drive was formatted to NTFS via Ubuntu.
The jump drive I'm installing it from a 4GB USB2.0, installing via USB2.0 port.

xp will not install on sata without sata controllers either on a floppy disk or slipstreamed onto your installation media with N-lite,

also some pc's will not boot from a usb, I have a dell dimension 3000 and while I can boot hiren's or most anything from a usb, I cannot boot xp to install from a usb,, long ago you could use Bart's PE, but his website for xp is down for a long time now.

I know I'm late, but XP will not boot from USB; burn the image onto a CD and try from there.

Yes XP can boot from USB. Just need to slip stream the SATA driver.

Does your copy of Windows XP Professional include Service Pack 3?
