From 2003 We have Bantam3D Grass which makes OBJ Grass but also Rocks as well... Much can be changed & configured & you can also import in alpha & bump maps... This does not need installed even though there's a setup option... The developer graciously has supplied cereal... This was once a commercial product then made freeware...
