AVG Internet Security 2015 Being Blocked

Hi

I recently renewed my AVG Internet Security 2015 but I cannot open it. When I try the message "Windows cannot open this program because it has been prevented by a software restriction policy." appears

I think it stops the execute file from running.

AVG have checked it out and confirmed it is not their problem.

I examined the Event Viewer, as it is mentioned in the message, and it may have been blocked by Windows Defender but I am far from being an expert on these matters.

Anybody had something similar? If so any feedback on how to rectify would be most welcome as I currently have no protection.

I would be leery of AVG but since you have paid for it, I am surprised that avg will not help get it installed.

run malwarebytes and insure that you are not infected, and also you can run online scanners with a free kaspersky online scan.
 
Many thanks for all that information I will try them all.

To be fair to AVG when the problem arose they have uninstalled and re-installed remotely about 3 times to no avail.
