MajorGeek says: DriveTheLife aims to keep track of your drivers, update repair and back them up as needed. The program has a clean, easy to use interface broken down into just a few tabs including the overview, update and tools. You can easily scan or rescan right from the main overview tab. It features an uninstaller to remove drivers that are not correct as well. There is no option to install beta drivers but then again most people should not be installing beta drivers. In other words, all drivers offered are WHQL meaning they are certified by Microsoft. The home page lists all of the recently added drivers showing what a chore it is to keep track of the hundreds of thousands of possible driver combinations. In our tests it performed flawlessly. It currently lacks a portable version but otherwise this one is an excellent choice in keeping up with all of your driver needs.

above is the home page for this download as I like to download from the authors site whenever possible, I am going to try this on my pc, which as far as I know is as up to date as possible, just to see what it will say, as I know that some of my drivers have later versions but are NOT compatible with my dell pc. Will post back with results. :)

well all drivers okay, did say that I needed to update:

MB Intel 82801EB SMBus controller 24D3, WHQL

I do not even know what this driver is as I have never had an error on it.

And I do not know what WHQL means.

Also, only backed up one driver??

Appreciate your point, normally I would agree without question.

However, Major Geeks has established themselves as being very reliable and checking everything.

More, Authors sites, increasingly, seem to try to bundle other stuff with their free downloads. Major Geeks, in keeping with their policy, almost always remove these from their downloads.

For those of us who are aware of the tricks, getting rid of the extras is rarely a problem.

Sadly, it seems most computer users are not and don't.

But I take your point. Many sites offer their version to deliberately add their nonsense into the code or bundle stuff that shouldn't be there. I'm pleased to say. Major Geeks has never done this.
