Yup AOE2 from 1999, stripped down @ 260 MB size uncompressed run from anywhere...

There are no expansions or addons in it so is easier than those that do have but you can ramp up the difficulty or add more enemies to deal with...

I helped a friend run this in Windows 7 years ago. It works. But you have to disable Aero and Display composition or it will mess up the colors.

In the title you write "portable" - you mean no-install or do you mean that it works on Windows CE? I certainly expect the former.

Also, the links are dead - could you please upload to Internet Archive? They are quite lax with moderation and they will be chill if the upload has no malware or you slap "do not download if you do not own the game" into the text.

As for myself, it is one of the first games I have ever played as a kid on my dad's old PC and I still like it today. As someone who has spend 17 hours of a day trying to figure out a patch for Visual Studio .NET 2003 to run on a virtual machine, I appreciate the portability (with the CD checks also removed, not requiring any shady patches).
