3D YouTube Downloader. (New Update you will need)

We are fortunate to have someone who regularly updates software that is XP compatible and doesn't force you to register, pay to download, or is plastered with ads.

I would actually contribute financially to what I think is excellent software for both Windows 10/11 and Windows XP. However, the only way of supporting them, is through Patreon. I would be happy to do this, as I support many African News Channels this was. Trouble is they say on their web site minimum support rate at £27.61 per month, which is a bit steep. I logged into Patreon and found that one can actually support for £5 per month. I still feel a bit steep considering a very rarely use the software. They should have an option for £2 per month and I would be happy to subscribe. There was NO option for one-off. One would have to subscribe, then cancel.

Looks like there will need to be an update to the app soon. Things have changed: can't download with it now.

Yes, I've noticed a glitch or two when trying to download something, at first, but when I click download again, it works.

There is an update, but it is getting flagged as malware, by my Antivirus software, and is not letting me install it. Never happened before.

They fixed a few hours ago. (As you noticed)

1.21 (23-Jan-2025)

  • switched from internal site analyzer to yt-dlp. Usage is not restricted to Youtube yet focused on it. For x86 build is used XP-compatible fork, so minimum supported version remains to be WinXP SP3 for now. For x64 build is used official release, so the minimum supported Windows version is now Win8.

Works for me anyway on Windows 10. I haven’t used XP in months.

Regarding specific problems with Antivirus software flagging as malware. That’s all that Anti-Virus software does. It flags software and hacks that Corporate America does not want you using. You will have to tell your anti-virus software that it is an exception.

Or do like I did about 10 years ago along with most other people and just remove anti-virus software. It’s a waste of space, does nothing and hogs resources. It is only there to protect the mentally feeble, who don’t understand what a computer is, what the internet is and like to click on every pop up they see and download everything that offers to upgrade their systems. You know, Morons.

Consider supporting them on Patreon, they only have 9 paid members. You can change the minimum to £1, so I presume you can also change to $1. And considering it is such a worthwhile app, I thought it was worth it.

Well, I tried again, and it worked this time. No flag from the AntiVirus and it installed fine. Downloaded two vids and all seems good. Although, the start up time for the actual downloading takes a bit longer than the previous time frame, but hopefully, that will go back to normal. Either or, it is working. Happy day !

Hello folks. I don’t use XP anymore. But I have subscribed to 3dyd for £1 per month. Which I will do for a year. This entitles me to send a direct message to the creator of this much used and loved program for XP aficionados. I have requested that he/she maintains support for XP. People like being appreciated for the time they put in and even occasionally paid.

So, I suggest those that want to keep using this program on XP sign up for as little as $1 per month for a few months and then drop the developer a message saying how much you appreciate his work and you really need him to keep the XP fork up to date.

Thanks from XP.jpg

Easy to do. But if no one else bothers. Don’t be surprised when you can no longer use to download from YouTube.
