Great Find! I'm using it. I extract the 3D Windows XP.scr file and placing it in System32 bypassing the exe BS. Thanks!!:)

    5 minutes (or so) later...
Argh! Stops after 5 seconds on preview and system launch. I used the exe install and still no go...

    Am I missing something?? :( Re-boot? Prayer?

It should only stop if there is keyboard/mouse activity or some other app moves itself to foreground. I have used this screensaver on my old Toshiba for years with no problems while listening to audio streams. I still uses it today on Windows 7/10 - I play my music and then fire up VMWare with XP virtual machine in full screen and let the screensaver run for sometimes hours.

Check task scheduler or your startup to see if something else is stealing focus, maybe some misbehaving AV (I don't use AV programs).

    Huzzah!

Someone figured out a way to patch this screensaver so it works in modern Windows OSes. I have it running in Windows 10 Pro x64 so it should also work in XP x64.

I downloaded the patched file and it works! For those of you paranoid about malware you can download the original file from Microsoft and patch it yourself with your favorite hex editor.

Yeah I read the thread and this issue was already found, so now there's a patched version that works on XP x64. My bad.
