Also after trying to attempt method 3 from Microsoft's support on event id 7000
Im Stuck on objectname??

I get all the way to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\ServiceName
and i have the following......

Default REG_SZ (value not set)
DisplayName REG_SZ OMCI
ErrorControl REG_DWORD 0x00000001 (1)
ImagePath REG_EXPAND_SZ \??\C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\DRIVERS\OMCI.SYS
Start REG_DWORD 0x00000001 (1)
Type REG_DWORD 0x00000001 (1)

Is your pc a dell?

please do the following:

Click Start, Run and in the box enter:

msinfo32

Click OK, and when the System Summary info appears, click Edit, Select All (Ctrl-A), Copy (Ctrl-C) and then paste (Ctrl-V) the information back here in your next reply.
You can edit out any personal information.

1. go here:
http://www.dell.com/support/drivers/us/en/19/drivershome/showproductselector

insert your express service code, which should be right next to your coa sticker, and this will lead to driver downloads that are specific to your pc.

2. get sp3 from a different working pc and save to a flash drive, carry it to your pc and install, you should not even be on the internet without sp3 and all the updates due to security risks, and windows updates will not work with out sp3.

3. I notice that you only have 512mb of ram, and if you have a lot of programs, then they will be fighting each other for memory.

4. Omci.sys is a component of Dell's OpenManage Client Instrumentation software application.

5. http://en.community.dell.com/techce...3.openmanage-client-instrumentation-omci.aspx
read this if you are using this program if not then you should uninstall this program which uses omci.sys

6. do a search of your installation cds for omci.sys, ensure that you are looking for hidden folders and files, and copy the omci.sys to C:/windows/system and /system32 and /system32/drivers.

7. one reason for slow internet is the 512mb, and another is the fact that you might not have all the drivers you need, there is a certain order to install Dell drivers:

ORDER FOR DELL INSTALL DRIVERS

Desktop System Software or Notebook System Software
Chipset or SMBus driver
Processor Driver (if applicable)
Video
Audio (sound)
Input Drivers (keyboard/mouse)
Modem
Network Card
===============================

post back after looking at dells website and searching your cds, and seeing if services has any listing for the program I stated above.

to get to services, go to start, control panel, administrative tools, services, once there scroll down the list, these are the service names.
