Running XP SP3 in virtualbox - I have a dual boot of 2 XPs -not mirrors but 2nd one is same version with some programs to help check and repair main XP or access files if boot fails on other.
This 2nd XP shuts down and restarts fine but main XP does not reboot when selected from start button - it runs scripts to shutdown and save settings and then just powers off in virtual machine instead of restarting as asked. Sometimes this causes a disk check to be run as with improper shutdown and some settings are not saved eg registry changes if I do this restart rather than shutdown.
My kids mostly use this xp for their educational programs so please help me find a fix for it - maybe it is something in winlogon settings in registry - I have already tried some troubleshooting but have not fixed issue yet.
