OK it ‘s not bad. Less grating then the real error sound. I have changed all my sounds to squeaks and meows. So if I am having problems with hardware or software interface, it sounds like there is mass murderer loose in a pet shop.

I haven't changed my system sounds since WIndows 98. I have pranked a few people by changing some of the default system sounds to burps/flatulence. :D

Whenever I do a new install, the first thing (before drivers or anything!), I do is delete ALL *.wav files on the drive!

I did this as well and most pictures and videos. I run a extremely slim XP. I don't know if you all over here have heard of DC Browser (chrome based) but def worth a shot as its getting harder and harder to find browsers.

Never heard of DC Browser and neither has the internet - I tried all the search engines and got nothing. Maybe you could post a link so we can evaluate and compare to HummingOwl's/ArcticFoxie's Chrome browsers.

Hi ClippyBeer, hope all is well with you.
Sorry, yesterday I was pretty groggy and didn't catch your posting.

Yes, it was developed (or shall I say "cleaned up" by Humming Owl.

    https://msfn.org/board/topic/182876-360-extreme-explorer-modified-version/

It didn't get the attention that 360 did but a few of us are still using and recommending it. I use it every day, actually, so I'm surprised you couldn't locate it. Please don't use the Chinese installer loaded with telemetry, rather, use the version by Humming Owl.

    Hope you enjoy it.

    Take good care..

    Sal

This is what it looks like on my system with dark theme - you can switch between dark and light them when you see the 'moon' icon on the top right. Actually, I think you would like it, please try when you can and let us know.

I strongly recommend the *global* command line switches.

    --no-first-run --disable-file-system --disable-gpu --disable-logging --disable-webg --disable-component-update --disable-background-networking --ssl-version-min=tls1.2 --enable-strict-mixed-content-checking --no-pings

I had forgotten that HummingOwl had other Chrome browsers he maintains. I have been swamped so haven't had time to thoroughly put DC browser through its paces. First impressions? It doesn't work properly with Github which is where Feodor, MyPal maintainer, hosts his binaries.

Bitchute, a video site popular with several users of this forum won't load at all.

I haven't tried Zoom/Skype due to time constraints but looks like you will have to keep other 360Chrome versions on your PC as backup.

I also haven't tried HummingOwl's other browsers (Kafan etc.) but hopefully will have time soon.
