Wireless Adapter Connects To Router But No Internet!

Hey, guys! I just got a wireless adapter for my Windows XP computer! It is an Anewkodi wireless adapter! I plugged it into my computer and installed the drivers that came with it! After that, it only connects sometimes! Mostly, everything is okay and seeming to work, but, I can't go on any websites! I use Internet Explorer and Opera! Internet Explorer shows me the "Internet Explorer cannot display the webpage" page, and, Opera has "Sending request to (URL)" for a while, and, then, it shows me the "This site can't be reached" page! I don't want to waste another twenty dollars on another wireless adapter! Can you please help me fix my wireless adapter?

is it compatible with xp??

what is the make, model and model number of the computer?

what is the model and model number of the wireless adapter?

I checked the wireless adapter! It says that it is compatible with Windows XP! My computer is a Dell Dimension XPS! I think it is the third generation! My wireless adapter is an Anewkodi wireless adapter! I cannot find either of their model numbers!

Sorry for the long wait! I could not find my model number! It just said "Dell Dimension XPS" in msinfo32, but, I did find my service tag! My service tag is F6M0G31! Now, you can look the drivers up for me!

follow the above instructions, disregard the netgear the instructions should be the same for the Anewkodi

=================

Easy Setup
Install the driver from the included CD. After the driver is installed, you can use the built-in
wireless utility in your operating system to connect to a wireless network.

the above statement is from the website advertising this adapter

I checked my wireless card (which is Realtek RTL8811AU Wireless LAN 802.11ac USB 2.0 Network Adapter) in device manager and it is already enabled! It says that the device is working properly! I also checked my wireless network connections! My wireless adapter is fully connected to my router! I also installed the drivers from the CD that came with my wireless adapter!

go to start/control panel/ network connections/ right click on your current connection and choose repair, if it does not complete there will be a point in the dialog box that says why, let me know

I repaired my wireless network connection! It successfully finished, but, I still cannot connect to the internet! It just disabled and enabled my wireless network connection!

above is the download for the adapter driver, download it and compare with the one you have installed to see if you have the latest driver or if the download is the latest driver.

the link in my last reply stated the below at the end of the article:

So if updating the driver, resetting the configuration, and repairing the network connection don’t work, then try to unplug the wireless router and plug it back in after about a minute. It’s best to turn off the cable modem too, but you should always turn on the modem first, then the router.

Unless there is something physically wrong with the router, one of the methods above should work! If you’re still have trouble with a network connection in Windows XP, post a comment and we’ll try to help. Enjoy!

so if you did all that, did you also check the link for the wireless tips?

this was a link within the page on troubleshooting.
