As stated in the Vue 6.05 portable thread VUE has been released for free years ago now-
https://www.bentley.com/software/e-on-software-free-downloads/
So if you have a modern powerful machine with GOOD graphics then there you go...
However for XP users this VUE 5 is the best version for a variety of XP machines...
It renders actually better than VUE 6 because Eon retrograded the render engine to claim better render times... I have a render showing both same render settings on same scene in both VUE 5 & 6 it is easy to see the difference zooming in... If I find it again I'll upload it...
VUE 5 was the first VUE to have been used in the movie industry... It was used in 'Pirates of the Caribbean - Dead Man's Chest' it was used on Skull Island to mix more trees & vegetation in amongst the natural real stuff & nobody was the wiser for it...
I highly suggest getting back into the VUE 5 Mindset... You can go back & take a look what was happening... The video presentation is great, showing off VUE 5 animations but ONLY the DivX version, the MOV version is only 'half there'-

Pellegrino has most his VUE 5 tuts uploaded to YT-
https://www.youtube.com/@nickpell/videos
They are about midway down you can't miss the VUE 5 GUI (Blue & White)....
GeekAtPlay had some but they were deleted years ago... They were first commercial, then uploaded as free, then deleted... I have them all will upload as time permits...
This weekend I installed on a netbook I had since 2010, an Acer Aspire One D250 with 1000x600 screen, dual atom processor, etc... works fine... These are some screens from the netbook-
These are done with the 'Quick Render' which is just one setting up from 'Draft' one would of course wanna use a much better setting & larger image size for any serious render-
You can play with materials & laugh all day long-
OK so listen... I had undone the CD ISOs into RARs for better compression & file upload-download speed... CD1 is the install CD & you can install from anywhere you UnRAR it at... Start up the 'QeyJen' from the 'QeyJen' folder...Yup, I renamed it to avoid hosters looking for the common 'Keygen' names...
Leave the keygen open while you start the install it will ask for the ##s, finish up...
CD2 has the scenes which you overwrite into the 'Scenes' folder in the program directory NOT 'My Documents'... If you do it wrong VUE won't be able to find them...
'Vue 5 Infinite' folder is a 'users' folder structure... This gets overwritten in the proper place in your 'My Documents/eon-software'... this includes some extras not included with VUE install... When you wanna use anything you go to the bottom of open dialog where it say 'Personal Collection' or hit the browse button...
I had also attempted upload to SendSpace but during upload they went into maintenance mode, how nice...
So there are only TWO, don't wait...
