The easiest option with OEM copies of XP is to reinstall XP using the manufacturer’s recovery disks.

if not an oem copy then follow the instructions to fix.

Looks like the registry is corrupted. I suspect the registry is so overloaded it now cannot take anything well.

As Elizabeth23 said go and reinstall the XP system since you'll never get it back. (please return to this board, because barely anyone here returns after asking a question)
