Protrekkr 2.8.x Win32 (Current) & NoiseTrekker 2 R12 (2000) Thread>>>

So now warmplace.ru is a closed forum (the SunVox forum) so now one must be signed it to view... Looks to be it's gonna stay that way....

My AXS thread was just 24,000 views away from a million but hasn't moved once in two weeks...

The Protrekkr thread will be dead as well so posting in other places like here...

Like AXS Protrekkr is my favorite of 'closed in' trackers, the pleasant aspect of Protrekkr is that it is currently updated with much done in the last year...

Always available here-

To give some history Protrekkr is based off the open sourced NoiseTrekker 2 by Arguru who open sourced it in 2000 mostly to prove to propellerhead that it did NOT contain ripped-off rebirth code as NoiseTrekker 2 had dual 303s in it that looked & sounded like rebirth 303s... Arguru went onto doing other projects then tragically passed in 2007... in 2000 two guys picked up NT2 code & made NoiseTrekker 3 which became Renoise which is nothing like the original NT2 anymore...

Sometime around 2008 or so Hitchhikr took up the code & made Protrekkr which closely sticks to the original NT2... Both 303's are in there, the C-Synth is still in there but it has been massively improved in so many ways & now has MIDI Clock start/stop send so can be used to run standalone multi-timbral synths thru a virtual MIDI port... Has mini-FX lane sliders so one does not have to lay down commands, still 16 tracks but they are not mono like the original but each track can have up to 16 notes in poly mode, many FX can be recorded by moving sliders as well... You can have up to 4 FX lanes per track as well...

Recent updates have targeted FX-LFO improvements which are very welcome...

Note these are older versions but the aspects shown are the same...

Here's an unfinished WIP I did a few years ago-

The feature of that WIP is that it is using both 303s (one for riffing the other as dedicated bass line) and the internal synth for BG chording & such...

This is better-

Many of these filters have been re-tweaked-

I have about 4 GBs of PTI & NTI Instruments I have made... Don't know where to upload so they will stay... may try a few on archive.org as a test i very much dislike that place anymore, yesterday I was on there on my AXS page which is the only one I have on there & the views were at 93 which is way off as there is way more than that... BUTT! then an hour later I still had the tab open so refreshed it & the views went down to 90!!... You can only lay down ONE review per item now & 1000 symbols or less so difficult to fix someone's problem just like everything else it all goes downhill....

As always I forget stuff...

There's other platforms as well... You can use a MIDI Keyboard with it no problem no issues... Protrekkr should run on any windows machine it's very efficient as it has internal FX only no VST garbage to deal with...

The sliders are pretty cool but space for them is limited but once you get the hang of it-

Of course if you don't have a MIDI Keyboard you just input using QWERTY...

One nice feature of recent is the ability to resize pattern fonts VERTICALLY which makes them pop out much more-

Here's the original NoiseTrekker 2 R12-

It had also the 'Auto-Synchro' sample feature where you could bring in a looping sample & sync it... Also it could back then drive multi-timbral synths but using it's own system as it did not have MIDI clock start/stop-
