No bootable device

Hello guys,I am a newbie! How are you?
Uhm,I have a question to ask,can we install windows(eg.windows XP)on a hard drive that say no bootable device? My laptop can detect the hard drive but cannot boot up!! Please help! I need my pc to do homework!
 
check your BIOS and make sure hard disk is included in the boot options

otherwise you may need to reformat/delete the hard drive and install windows XP again
(if you can try to install windows XP without formatting/deleting the hard drive)
