MetaTools Bryce 3D 2 Portable Win32 (1996) - Still Entertaining Nearly 30 Years Later>>>

Amazingly Bryce had procedural textures, volumetrics & more before many full 3D packages had them... This version did not have the deep texture editor nor the animation features but if you don't use those you will not miss them anyways...

The Peshay Studio Set from 1996 placed on YT 7 years ago has over 4 million views, over 148,000 likes & over 5,000 comments... It's nothing but Bryce 2 renders (EVERYBODY can do better now with better machines in SAME Bryce 2)... So fight AI, use Bryce2-

This is total portable, just use it... I have sourced as many old materials-scenes as possible... There's also a portable interchange 4 inside so you can convert models to bring in... Converting to DXF seems to work best...

Now when you start it everything will be very small which freaks peeps out... Don't everyone remember the very small screen resolutions back then?!! REMEMBER?!!

The fix is easy & very repeatable as well-

A few other things for those 'out there'... You certainly don't hafta use the harsh shadow options of yesteryear in this old Bryce... You can 'sorta' fake radiosity-GI to an extent using homemade 'Light Bars'-

These will create a soft shadow effect... You can get creative in using directional lights with it too & don't forget about Bryce's light 'Gels'

And as far as procedurals this old Bryce had plenty-

Truth is that before Kai Krause fled out to his castle Bryce was headed in a direction to be a part of the 'big wig' 3D applications with import/export options leading that way... Bryce 4 was a big deal that way... Here I tested Bryce 4 by importing the Demo Soldier from Zbrush 3.5 which is slightly over 1 million polygons...

Well it's 25 years old now...

A GI 'Faking' render as well...

Amazingly Bryce handles 'per face' UV mapping just fine where other apps readily puke out... Like from Nendo or Nichimen Mirai or Zbrush...
