Kernell32.dll

Evening Partygoers,
I have did a clean install of XP Pro on my brothers machine. When I went to install google chrome, avg I received the Kernel32.dll error. Thinking that I might have made a mistake I did the install over again but same issue. Then did a repair and still nothing.
Also updated the java script which has helped tremendously with web browsing but I cannot load flash player. I also cannot install any service pack. The webpage freezes (which is what it was doing today) or last night when I could get to the Service Pack screen and would attempt to load SP3, the computer would just restart itself.
Please Help and thanks in advance

Please give me the make, model and model number of the pc

Tell me the steps you took to reinstall

Did you have all your drivers ready before install?

windows updates will not work without sp3

go to a working pc and download to a flash drive and carry sp3 to your pc

…you can ignore the text that says that it is for network installations and also ignore the text advising Windows/Microsoft Update if only updating one PC.
Reboot twice after installing.

Elizabeth,
Thank you for your help. When I went to install service pack 3, my bro's computer would not take it because service pack 1 had not been installed! So downloaded service pack 1, then 3 and all is good with the world.
Thank you for your help.
