Iphone 6 Hotspot

Hello,
I recently became unable to connect to my iPhone 6 hotspot via the laptop wifi. I have Sony VAIO running Windows XP and the latest updates are installed.
However I can connect to the same iPhone hotspot from the same Laptop via USB cable or Bluetooth or another Linksys USB Wifi adapter. But the internal built in Wifi adaptor does not connect although it can connect to any other wireless router.
I uninstalled and installed the driver several times and still not working.

It could be a faulty wifi card, if you can use it with a wifi adapter, but not the built in wifi, then it is most likely a faulty wifi card.
