How do I disable popups?

Dear fellow XP users, every time I turn on XP I get from 5 to 10 popups, like "No antivirus installed" or one about graphic settings, another says "Can't show all apps". They are really annoying. How do I turn them off? I use Windows XP x64 Professional on VirtualBox.
 
For some popups, Control Panel > Security Center > "Change the way security center alerts me".

For other popups, look carefully for options to disable that popup in the future before you close it, or find the Settings for which ever App is responsible for that particular alert.
