help with windows xp

h, I would ask a little help if it were possible,
my operating system is xp home edition, and spotted two anomalies
1-when I open a document from Notepad into a folder it does not open in the foreground and goes directly to the taskbar, if I click to open, then it opens normally, but never in the foreground, this happens with sized to the maximum folder if it is smaller the document opens from behind, but never in the foreground, if you click then gets the focus.

2-in internet explorer to do a search on various sites can not select to erase what I wrote, before loading the right mouse button could select, now does nothing, does not erase, not copies or select.

if someone could help these two topics would be eternally grateful.
thank you.........

First, download either firefox or chrome and make that your default browser as IE is insecure, I only use IE for a site that does not work elsewhere.

second, what is your current antivirus and what other scanners are installed??

third, is your antivirus up to date??

do a scan with the following, please,

Download, install, update and do full scan with these free malware detection programs:

Malwarebytes Free (MBAM): http://www.malwarebytes.org/products/

SUPERAntiSpyware: (SAS): http://www.superantispyware.com/

Remove all found, reboot, and run again until scans run clean, these can be removed afterwards if you so choose. Run scans one at a time, please.

then you should run checkdisk until no errors are found:

http://support.microsoft.com/kb/315265/en-us
How to perform checkdisk

if you do not have Recovery Console installed, then run from the start menu

go to start, run, type in cmd

in cmd type in chkdsk c: /r and press enter

type Y for yes and press enter

type exit and press enter

restart pc, allow checkdisk to finish and run again

this is a lengthy process depending on the size of your harddrive, the percentages will fluctuate, this is normal, you can view report in the event viewer.
go to start>run> and type in eventvwr.msc, click on the applications directory, and in the right hand panel choose winlogon.
