I joined this forum after I found the ExFat KB955704 version for Windows XP x64, which I couldn't on this forum. I found it elsewhere and I would like to share it.

README.txt — exFAT support for Windows XP Professional x64 Edition (ENG)
============================================================
File: WindowsServer2003.WindowsXP-KB955704-x64-ENU.exe
Source: https://archive.org/download/winxp-exfat-driver
Size: ±12.6 MiB
Language: English (ENU)
Verified: Yes, Microsoft signed
Test status: Successfully tested on Windows XP Professional x64 Edition (SP2) in VirtualBox
========================================================
Description:
------------
This update adds support for exFAT (Extended File Allocation Table) on Windows XP Professional x64 Edition. After installation, the system will be able to read and write to exFAT-formatted storage media (such as USB sticks >32 GB).
exFAT is useful for:
- Large USB sticks or external SSDs (larger than 32 GB)
- Compatibility between modern systems (Windows 7/10/11, Linux, macOS) and older XP systems
- Situations where FAT32 is too limited (4 GB file limit)
Instructions:
------------
1. Preferably use a virtual machine first or make a full system backup.
2. Double-click on the file `WindowsServer2003.WindowsXP-KB955704-x64-ENU.exe`.
3. Follow the installation instructions from Microsoft.
4. After installation, a reboot is required.
5. After reboot, an exFAT-formatted USB stick should be immediately visible and accessible.
Notes:
------------
- The installation shows as “Update for Windows XP (KB955704)” in "Add or Remove Programs".
- No separate exFAT driver visible with date stamp of the installation day; the update adds kernel support silently.
- Only works on **Windows XP x64**. A separate version exists for 32-bit XP.
- If you use ClamWin or other virus scanners: feel free to scan beforehand. The file has been tested clean.
- Certificates are recognized correctly within XP x64 (if Microsoft root certificates are up-to-date).
Known limitations:
--------------------
- Not officially supported by Microsoft since end of XP support.
- No formatting option for exFAT within XP Explorer — formatting must be done on a newer system or via CLI tools.
Credits & Responsibility:
------------------------------------------
Use at your own risk. This update is originally from Microsoft, but is being offered via Archive.org for preservation and compatibility with legacy systems.
Tested and confirmed to work by an XP x64 user in 2025.
