DAZ-Poser Old Content>>>

Creating a Poser 6 Runtime going through bins of old Poser-DAZ content... mostly to have a runtime for Carrara5, Various C4Ds, Shade3D 9.2, Vue 5 Infinite & xStream 6 but also to use Poser 6 to prep stuff... So have alotta tools-addons for old Posers & DAZ studio... Mostly concentrating on older A3-V3-M3, Miki 2-3 at the moment...

So if you have something specific that is no longer available you might want make a wishlist here so I can grab as I go through discs....

Could you just send all of it please :) ?

HaHA!!... You are quite special Martingonn!... Terabytes upload to where?... I'd consider it if there was a bit more interest... I am talking BINs fulla discs... That's why I asked if there's any 'wishlist' that way I can 'memorize' in the short-term memory what others might want while flipping through discs (i have written on sleeves what is burned into each disc)...

"Special"? Did not know you had terabytes, that must be either large disks or a lot of them! If you can, I would like 3D editing software first...

Could you list your things more specifically please (if you can of course)?

After I installed your software, all of my icons changed to ones from Windows 95, the simple fix was... changing the color palette to 32-bit. Keeping this in so that someone with the same problem will know how to fix.

I am a compulsive 3Dstuff downloader too and in the past I've piled up several TB of DAZ/Poser & general 3D (.obj .3ds .fbx etc.) contents.
Lately I've slowed down a little because I realized that tidying up all that stuff may take much longer than it took downloading it -- but I'm still picking up free stuff from the web every now and then for it's a highly addictive habit, you know :D:D:D

It would be nice if we all could compile a list of what we are willing to share and post it here. What do you think?

Yes, If one can find a decent place to upload to... I don't host torrents as it uses up too much BW making videos buffer for wife... There are some large torrents on RUTracker.org for mostly DAZ Studio stuff... Long gone are the days you could upload to rapidshare/depositfiles/megaupload/etc & that stuff would be on there for years no CAPTCHA no registering...

There used to be ShareCG but they closed last April with just a WEEKS NOTICE!!... Of course diverting everyone to a site setup for mostly commercial ventures with a smattering of free & no more 'all formats'... Despicable as there was alotta good stuff on there all deleted...

I think I have most of 'Birdman's' models who made some great stuff...

This is why I stated that if someone was missing something then it would be an easy & relatively small load... Much easier than trying to mindlessly upload TBs of stuff maybe nobody will want...

Well, at this point I am grouping up all Aiko 3 stuff to install into runtime there will be quite a bit doing this on several machines at once...

Yes, If one can find a decent place to upload to...
What if once we have enough demand we squeeze the stuff to be shared into a not too large ISO with a convenient name and upload it to the Internet Archive (maybe as a software collection)? Downloading it may be painfully slow but who cares, once started it goes on by itself.

P.S.: we are all mourning ShareCG, it was a great site! Any idea why they closed down?

Looks like they weren't makin' enough 'money' which is why so many have ads all over the place...

I would be wary of archive.org... I am not using them anymore, way too slow uploads very picky 'metadata' I don't see any DAZ-Poser content on there so I am sure such content is on the 'do-not-accept' al-go-rhythm...

OK, so the archive wasn't such a great idea after all.
But let me look around, it seems to me pretty unlikely that no one provides a limited-size (~1GB) web-parking service anymore, either free or at a decent price.

P.S.: you ask me, RenderHub sucks!

I wish you luck... I have found some that will do that but the duration time is very short, like 2 weeks max or if there are no downloads within a certain amount of time it's deleted... It's not like it used to be....

You could TRY archive.org maybe if you disguised the content in some way some have better luck with ISOs there's alot of cracked stuff on there I can't figure out why archive.org seems to have to rip me a new rectum on it....

But if detected by the DAZ-Poser peeps I'm sure all would be deleted as all that content is considered retail product & is still for sale-

Here's OLD Aiko 3 - STILL for sale-

https://www.daz3d.com/aiko-3-0-mega-bundle

BTW... The thread I started on Eovia Carrara is a good one for poser content one can convert to a vertex object inside Carrara for modeling or one can have both Carrara & Poser open & make chenges in Poser to update in Carrara... Pretty cool...

Alas no, it's not!
But whimpering is pointless: either we manage to do it with whatever is available today, or we say "such a pity" and give up :(
Do consider that a relatively short duration time could be more a bonus than a downside: while common sense suggests that by exchanging stuff no longer on sale we don't deprive anyone of his daily bread, some ruthless law firm might differ and raise issues. Keeping a low profile would be advisable.
As such the potential ones you located could really be the solution we're looking for.

No, upon what you wrote I'd rather not try archive.org: looking for troubles and wasting my time never were my favorite hobbies.

I must still dig a little deeper but Proton might have something interesting, decently large and encrypted (better safe than sorry). More on that once I'm through with the small print, just in case...
Looks like a (not very) subtle maneuver to prevent us from doing what we'd like to. Who would ever buy Aiko for $32.78 today?

It would be better suited for The Mummy than for Aiko, or do I need a new hearing aid? :D

Reviewing through I have not seen anyone 'whimpering'... Personally I would not because I already HAVE the content....

For me I was just revealing contrasts which looks like YOU already know of but many would not....

Perhaps you will find the diamond in the rough for file hosters... Personally I don't trust any of them as far as I can throw them as I have seen so MANY big name hosters disappear overnite paying members be damned...

No, you do not need a hearing aide, you heard it... very strange voice...

Don't get me wrong, the wimpering one is me!
I'm still mourning the disappearance of megaupload, rapidshare & Co, and regret that no one showed up to replace them. But such is life... :(
I have the content too but certainly not all I'd like to have, and an easy exchange site might fill the holes... (sigh)

I don't trust them either, and that's one more reason to have the stuff up and downloadable only for a limited time: if one knows they will (or might) disappear soon anyway, he doesn't wait for months before downloading them.

You should hear me in the mortning before my first coffee! :)

OK, I thought none of us were whimpering...

Yeah, OK, You are making sense as long as the uploads go fairly fast I guess a short lifespan is OK.... Man, I got alot of cool props too there was some real unique stuff made in DAZ-Poser you did not see anywhere else... So far a bit everyday on the A3 also including 'The Girl' but not Girl4 which are those damned bitrock installers that look for a particular poser build or won't install...

Testing out in Carrara & Shade3D was OK but interPoser Pro in C4D I think is the best... It just needs a runtime which can be anywhere & it does everything Poser would do but INSIDE C4D, Poses, Props, Animation without all the wasted space with small concise dials... Plus in C4D I have @ 7 different render engines... V-Ray, finalRender, Advanced Render, FryRender, LuxRender, Maxwell Render, Indigo...

If I keep my runtime a 'reasonable' size I can copy onto a flash drive to either copy on other machines or just use it off the flash drive for the laptops with small HDDs....

Internet Archive moderation is crazy. How were your programs removed while "cracked half-life for windows xp" remains, where they clearly state that it is cracked and how to use the crack. In the metadata, I just leave some things blank if I don't know them...

Yes, the moderation there is quite looney... This is actually my second account there... My first one got wiped out, deleted even my reviews on other accounts uploads which were all positive, no reason ever given, no emails, nothing...

So 1.5 years later I thought I would try again under new email & such but getting same vibes, the al-go-rhythm is even worse...

I uploaded LockIt from Max and they removed it almost immediately even though I got it from Web Archive...
