contiginuous files

What are continguous files, and if not important, how can I get rid of them. Any info is appreciated. thanks. Barney31
 
Contiguous files are just files that are located in a single clump on the drive, rather than spread out over several blocks. So it's not so much a type of file, but rather a way that it is stored on the disk.
