computer probably hacked

I believe my PC was recently hacked by an overseas telestra scammer and a password has been added at startup......something like "this computer has been configured to require a password"......how do I get around the this problem without reloading windows and losing all my information

read above thread, you will have to reinstall windows, but it gives links to a bootable cd that you can create to get your files off your drive before reinstalling.

And if you had your HDD properly partitioned, you could easily re-install without worrying about losing any of you data.....
