Cannot find GRLDR

Cannot find GRLDR

EeePC with WinXP OS.
Its HDD is replaced by a second hand one.
Installation of WinXP has to be by a UFD.
Everything is set and the netbood is started.
A message says CANNOT FIND GRLDR & BOOTMGR IS MISSING.

How to restore them, please?
And where to locate them, in the UFD or HDD?

The drive seems to have had a copy of Linux on it at sometime.

Linux is bad news. it doesn't work. It's insecure and it leaves crap all over the place. In this case, it has managed to corrupt the loader for windows.

Suggest you format the drive using FDISK if you can find a copy. They are usually on older versions of Windows.

Once you're reformated you should be able to proceed with your install
