xp network icon slow to start on boot

I do agree you should have an antivirus, antispyware, or HIPS, firewall and or blabidi blabiba, but every one forgot to mention about hijackers.Guys tell me this does any of the tools like anitvirus has full protection against hijackers. I don't believe so, and in this case it very much seems like the dns has been hijacked so use a rootkit or tools like combofix, or hijacker(OK effectiveness)

This sounds more like refreshing the icon cache would take care of it.
Search Google for " xp refresh icon cache" and choose your solution. IT's
not an uncommon problem.
