Restoring XP OEM system to original state

    Am running XP on a Gateway box but lately developed a bug and would like to restore it to state that it was in when purchased (Have OEM restore disks). Would there be a problem with re-registering it or whatever you call it with MS? I know I would be missing all the updates but I have a copy of all the service packs. I have run Avast and spyware and malware programs but they do not seem to find anything. Would there be a problem restoring it? Thanks.

    no not really since you have some disks, you can get the updates from microsoft updates once sp3 has been installed offline, as MU needs sp3 to work.

    have you ever reinstalled your os before??

    when you reinstall choose not to activate until your installation is finished.

    there should be no problem , the product key is on your pc casing
