Question about SP3 working with SP2 drivers or vice-versa

    Hello, wonderful XP folks! I'm a long-time XP Professional user and fan of this wonderful Operating System.
    I have several machines dedicated to XP for Graphics and music composition.
    I'm trying to connect my Yamaha Motif XS8 synthesizer to my XP computers through FireWire but the drivers are written for XP SP3. Unfortunately, one of my sound card/firewire interfaces only has a SP2 driver available.
    Will it still work on an XP Professional SP3 machine and vice-versa? Can I use a sound interface with only SP3 drivers on a SP2 computer (if no SP2 drivers are available)?

    I think most drivers should work as XP SP2 is not that different from SP3
