    Hi all

I've been having some issues connecting my apple iPhone to my laptop recently which I can usually resolve by updating their drivers in device manager or completing other Apple based fixes.

However now the "personal devices" section in device manager is not being shown... Even when I select show hidden categories.

Any way to fix this as I need it to transfer my files onto my laptop.

I'm running windows xp 32 bit on a dell Inspiron 6400

Any help would be really appreciated as have spent hours trying various fixes but have found very little on this xp issue

    Thanks
    D

does your device show up in My Computer??

you can click on it if so, and open it that way

    ---------------

    is your system clean??

    what is your current antivirus?

run malwarebytes free, reboot as necessary and run as many times as it takes till no threats are found.

    Thanks Elizabeth

Unfortunately it does not show up in My Computer. It used to, but doesn't now with whatever has changed. It still shows up in iTunes and also is under the USB section in my device manager but needs to show up in the personal devices section in my device manager for it to show in my computer and be used as a drive. For whatever reason the personal devices section has disappeared!
