Hi,

I'm running Windows XP Pro on a P4 930 system, motherboard Intel D975XBX,
with a 5.1 speaker system plugged into the motherboard audio controller. The
audio device driver is IDT.

The speakers are properly configured in IDT, but Windows XP's Sound and
Audio Devices speaker settings always revert to "7.1 home theater speakers"
even though I change and apply the the proper speaker setting in either the
speaker settings tab, the sound playback tab or the voice playback tab....

Can anyone help me out in fixing this incorrect setting ?

Thanks much !
