Like say if you delete a history file and a new one is created. In newer operating systems, the creation date will stay the same due to file tunneling. Does this happen in XP?

    Thanks Joe

I was trying to figure out when a certain program was installed and it probably went through various versions or updates. Can I safely assume the folder creation dates are the original install date since tunneling would have been used to keep it the same?
