I keep getting a message via my virus protection stating: Windows corrupt file or directory
C:\document and settings\user/local\settings\applicationdata\google\chrome\userdata\default\preferences is courrupt and unreadable. Run checkdiskutility. I ran it twice but I still get this message.

Can anyone help me fix this? I am running Windows XP. I no longer want to put repair money into the PC I would appreciate if someone can help me. I am fairly familiar with navigating the system. Thanks so much!

you need to run malwarebytes and full scans on your pc as I believe you are infected.

also you could uninstall chrome and then reinstall.

DO NOT place your questions in multiple forums, this is the only one I will respond too and will let your other thread die a slow death :)
